THE STATE COUNCIL CANCEL THE SUSPENSION OF GM MON810 IN FRANCE
Finallly, for the State of Council of the French government, the genetically modified maize MON810 of Monsanto doesn’t cause any problem to human health. The State Council said that the Ministry of Agriculture could not provide proof of the existence of a high level of risk to human health and on the environment. It’s why they cancel the orders of the Ministry of Agriculture suspending the use of MON810, and condemn the French government to pay 14,000 euros to the plaintiffs. We must know also that if the Council of State is consulted for an opinion, the government could refuse to take it into account. And we can also ask ourselves about the impartiality of this opinion, knowing that the President of the French Republic, and his Council of Ministers could nominate themselves, the members of the Council of State. Despite all this, we continue to ignore completely the effects on health caused by the MON810. The only certainty that we have, is the speed at which a score of new resistant plants grew (the prize went to the Amaranth which can exceed 2 meters) and which requires heavy use of ineffective herbicide Roundup of  Monsanto. So tell me, what interest have the authorities to let them do what they want?
